Today, in the assembly hall of the main building of the Maikop State Technological University, the grand opening of the IX Open University Championship "Young Professionals" was held according to the standards of the Skills Development Agency.

The championship movement, which originated at MSTU in 2017 with four competencies, today includes eight training areas, in which students not only from the Maikop State Technological University, but also representatives of other educational organizations participate.
This year, participants from the Kuban State Medical University joined in.
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at MSTU Lyudmila Ivanovna Zadorozhnaya addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of the Championship as a tool for the professional growth of students and improving the quality of education.
Warm words for the contestants were also heard from Asiyat Dorgushaova, Dean of the Faculty of Information Systems in Economics and Jurisprudence, Galina Konovalova, Dean of the Faculty of Ecology, and Artur Arutyunov, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy.

The celebration was accompanied by performances by creative groups: the ensemble "He Beatles" with the anthem of the Moscow State Technical University, the vocal ensemble "Accent" with the song "Forward, Russia!" and the dance duet from Children's Art School No. 1 with a bright number "Caucasian Suite".
According to tradition, the ceremony included a parade of participants and the recitation of a solemn oath on behalf of the contestants and experts.

This year, more than 60 students and more than 45 experts are participating in the competition in the following skills:
— Entrepreneurship;
— Tourism;
— Floristry;
— Software solutions for business;
— Finance;
— Environmental Protection;
— Urban studies: urban planning;
— Pharmaceutics (new skill this season).
The competition will take place at specialized university venues over three days.
All university stage competitors will receive national-level Skills Passports, which include:
— Result (percentage) of skill acquisition;
— National level benchmark.
