The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation held a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the Final of the International Hi-Tech Future Skills Competition chaired by Minister Anton Alikhanov.
The venue, dates, goals and format of the event have been determined – it has been decided that in 2025 the Competition Final will be held from November 10 to 14 at the Yekaterinburg Expo. It is expected that more than 500 competitors and experts, over 100 enterprises, as well as about 500 guests of the forum and exhibition (the exhibition area is integrated into the development of the competition part) will take part in the Final. This year, dozens of skill will be presented in the Competition Final (their final list is currently being formed), it is already known that approximately 40,000 sq. m. will be required for their development.
Opening the meeting of the Organizing Committee, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov noted the important role of the event for the development of human resources:
“No less important tasks for Hi-Tech this year will be the development of an inter-industry expert community for the exchange of breakthrough solutions, the identification and implementation of promising technologies in the real production sector.”
Experts and competitors from Rostec State Corporation, Rosatom State Corporation, Roscosmos State Corporation, SIBUR LLC, Russian Railways OJSC, Rosseti PJSC, EVRAZ LLC, Rosneft Oil Company PJSC, USC JSC, and Rostelecom PJSC will participate in the Competition Final based on preliminary applications. New companies from the Russian Federation will also be invited to participate. Participation of experts, competitors, observers, and speakers from Belarus, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, the UAE, Uzbekistan, and South Africa is planned.
In parallel, it is planned to hold a business forum with panel discussions, international sessions and a plenary session, to which top officials from government agencies, businesses and foreign experts are invited.
Skills Developmaent Agency CEO Maria Elkina drew attention to the innovations of "High-Tech-2025": "In order to involve a wide range of companies and enterprises in the Competition, a demo format of individual competitions is provided. This format will allow new participants to conveniently take part in the Competition Final and get acquainted with the prospects and impact of the competitive process on their production."
The members of the Organizing Committee accepted the presented concept of the Competition as a basis. It was recommended that the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, together with the Skills Development Agency, continue working to ensure the participation of industrial enterprises and regional authorities in the events of the Competition Final.
The International Hi-Tech Future Skills Competition has been held annually since 2014 in Yekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk Region) by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation together with the Skills Development Agency, the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region, and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI).
Сompetition is a strategic platform for the implementation of key tasks of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia in the field of:
- Personnel provision for enterprises,
- Technological leadership and industrial modernization,
- Development of technological solutions in accordance with the priorities of technological development,
- International cooperation under sanctions
