For the first time in the 12–year history of the Russian Open Ploughing Championship (August 8-10, Leningrad Region), Skill Development Agency will present a new skill - "Integrated Digital Agroengineering". As part of the championship on this skill, special competitions will be held for students of vocational schools and universities. Competitors will show their skills working with robotic complexes, neural network algorithms for processing agricultural data, satellite navigation systems and unmanned solutions for precision farming. This initiative is changing the way we think about agriculture. Now, in accordance with modern realities, it appears as a high-tech field for young professionals, where computer engineering, remote sensing and geoinformation technologies are combined.
The scale of the championship is growing again this year. The organizers are the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, JSC Rosagroleasing, the Government of the Leningrad Region and the Regional Committee for Agriculture. The infrastructure includes 32 specialized zones: from demonstrations of agricultural machinery to conference rooms for business negotiations. Up to 40 teams from 64 regions of Russia will come to the site in Vsevolozhsky district. There will also be official delegations from 8 friendly countries: Serbia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, South Ossetia, Gagauzia and Abkhazia. Over 100 units of agricultural machinery will be presented at the exhibition: from the latest import-substituting models to rare samples. The strategic status of the championship will be emphasized by the meeting of the State Council of the Russian Federation Commission on Agriculture. It will be attended by members of the Federation Council, the State Duma and international representatives.
The social mission of the project, which was noted by Russian President Vladimir Putin, will become one step more effective thanks to the new digital competence of the Agency for the Development of Professional Skills. The address of the head of state emphasizes: "Attracting young people to advanced agricultural technologies will be the key to rural development." Career guidance programs have been prepared for this purpose. This is an interactive "Children's Town", test drives of modern technology, master classes from the Russian Union of Rural Youth (RSSM), as well as exhibitions of domestic equipment. Preferential leasing will be available at the exhibition. Support for farmers is also included in the economic program. It will be provided by a Wine fair, a Meat Festival, the Leningrad Cheese Festival and gastronomic zones with local producers.
The championship program combines professionalism and entertainment. The guests will see the finals of classical plowing. The participants will work for 3 hours on a 100×24 m site. They will be evaluated according to 20 criteria, including the depth of the furrow and the clarity of the lines. There will also be extreme tractor races with trampolines and water obstacles, a Tractor show for driving skills, a Yavi Navi horse show and performances of retro equipment. The program will end with a concert of stars.
