An open survey of expert positions to establish an expanded list of promising areas

The Working Group on Skills Development, Applied Technologies and Innovations of the BRICS countries was held as part of the BRICS Business Forum 2024 events

As part of the XVI BRICS Summit, which was held in Kazan from October 22 to 24, 2024, the annual report of the BRICS Business Council was presented, including the results of activities in the development of promising technologies and skills.

The results of the joint work were also agreed at the annual meeting of the BRICS Business Council and the annual meeting of the BRICS Business Council Working Group on October 17 at the World Trade Center in Moscow.

The agenda of the meeting included presentation of the results achieved by representatives of the BRICS+ member countries in 2024.

    Within the framework of the group's activities, a full cycle of skill development is implemented – a "laboratory", within which a full cycle of developing promising skills, professions and technologies is carried out.

    The full cycle of skill development includes:

    - conducting research, forming a profile of promising skills of specialists and technologies for the workplace;

    - testing and refinement of the formed model of skills and technologies during the competitions;

    - implementation of best practices for developing skills and technologies in short educational programs;

    - implementation of training programs for promising industries.

    The key activities of the group's work were: :

      Holding the annual BRICS Future Skills & Tech Challenge 2024 International Competition.

      Conducting educational intensive courses on advanced skills and technologies of the BRICS countries.

      Conducting a comprehensive analysis of the development of cross-cutting and critical technologies, personnel demand for specialists, including project sessions on the development of skills and a model Foresight of technology development and personnel demand.

      The Standardization committee is also effectively continuing its work on developing reference standards for competitive and educational events in the BRICS countries.

      In order to strengthen the work of the group, in 2025 it is also proposed to develop areas of technological cooperation, platform employment, harmonization of national qualification systems in the BRICS countries, as well as holding events of the working group at the site of the International Hi-Tech Competition 2025.
