Within the framework of the international forum "Russian Week of Robotics", the competition of professional skills "Robotics Skills" 2024 took place from November 18 to 22. The competitions were held in 4 skills: industrial robotics, mobile robotics, digital industry, robotic welding.
The knowledge included in the skills contribute to the development of industries, open up new opportunities for cooperation with partner countries. Thus, for the skill of "Digital Industry", together with international experts from the BRICS+ countries, an international specification was developed, which became the basis for the formation of the competition task for the championship.
The championship allows participants to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities in the relevant skills through solving competitive tasks related to the engineering of new high-tech production, modeling and programming of industrial robots and automated systems.
Universities and colleges of Russia and Kazakhstan took part in the competition.
The participants were faced with the task of developing digital twins for their technological solutions. The teams programmed production and technological processes in a "Rational Production" software. Then the teams had to carry out a virtual commissioning of their systems, and after that they had to implement a real commissioning using Internet of Things and Computer Vision technologies. This would make it possible not only to test the performance of the developed solutions, but also to demonstrate the possibilities of integrating modern technologies into robotic production processes.
The opening ceremony on November 18 was the beginning of the championship. The next 3 days were intended for the participants to complete the competition tasks. The award ceremony took place on November 22 at the «PetroCongress» Center. Certificates of participation were passed to all participants, and diplomas were awarded to the winners of their skills.
The educational partner of the competition was the St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (SUAI), who provided a venue for the championship.
The general partner was the Concern R-Pro, the technical partners were R-Pro Digital and R–Pro Robotics, who provided software, equipment and robots to perform competitive tasks.
The official partner was the engineering and consulting center "ESS Market", providing 3D-printers for the championship.
Concern R-Pro provided its "Rational Production" Software for the competition.
The design of the competition task and the preparation of teams was done by the official training center for the "Digital Industry" skill- Institute of Innovative Technologies in Business.
The Institute of Innovative Technologies in Business offers training programs for preparing teams and their leaders (compatriots) to participate in competitions in the Digital Industry Skill to universities, colleges, and companies.
